One of the most talented young musicians in the world, Gaga represents a welcome stylistic departure from the typical popslut model (i.e. Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears).

Having said that, we're still not sure what to think looking at her in a bikini …

Please explain to me what is wrong with these photos other than they appear to have been taken by some paparazzi who was stalking her? I do not care for her tatoos, but other than that, how do these photos of her deserve your derision? She looks like a more fit than normal female hanging out by a pool with her friends.

What is the standard you are holding this talented, successful, young musician to that she is failing to meet while relaxing poolside? Do you have a girlfriend, wife, or 20-something daughter whose bikini clad frame you'd like to post that we can all use to compare and contrast so we can see your point or are all "your" women professionally airbrushed. Mike? Have you been to a public pool or beach lately and taken a good look around? Or did you comparison shop with Maxim?

I guess when people are jealous of others' success (like the author of this "ohoto essay" clearly is) than this is the kind of "reporting" one gets.

jaq24; I could not agree with you more. My first impression of those pictures was, who is the scumbag who feels that it's ok to invade this woman's privacy?

I agree; she doesn't look bad, really. Okay, I don't care for the tats, but i don't like them on men or women, and I realize that's a personal preference. Aside from the tats, the body isn't stunningly spectacular, nor is it horrendous. It's pretty much an average body. She's not out of shape, and yes, she's pale, but that's what white people LOOK like. It's how nature made us. It's no more "gross" for a white woman to keep her natural color than it is for a black woman to keep HERS!

And yes, I wonder what all of the complainers look like in bikinis or swim trunks...or what the women in their lives really look like!

I only meant that I wouldn't f*ck her with your dick.

Agreed freethinker. Who knows where she has been. And she is a singer, NOT a musician. One who is so bad she has to dress in the most unusual ways to distract her fans.

I won't shoot the messenger Mike, but I have no idea what that website was getting at. I thought she was gonna have a cock or something from the lead in to the story. When I read it I didn't know if I should be hearing Joan Rivers' silly red carpet critical voice about the two-piece or the Man Show's adolescent i'd still do her with the tattoos staring back at me voice. She's not my type that's all.

Appreciate that Roy. Who knew I'd get such grief for the "unflattering photo set" title which was just a reference to the fact that like many have pointed out these weren't magazine or glamour shots, and were taken unsuspectingly.

Meh... If she were a swimsuit model that had slipped off her starvation routine into the shape she's in, then maybe they'd be an arena for chatter, but Lady Gaga isn't such a figure.

She's a young talented artist/performer that's in better shape than a majority of American women. She actually has a normal "I eat food, I don't fear the sammich" body. She's taking time out of her very active career of recording and performance to spend an afternoon frolicking at poolside with friends.

Like her music / hate her music. Think she's hot or not. Think she's pretty, believe she's homely. Love the ink on her body / hate the ink.... whatever. It really isn't a reason to put her down for being physically normal and healthy or for wearing a bikini to the pool to play with friends.

The bottom line is she's a hard working and talented young woman that's a far better role model (ink & all) for young women than most of those in the spotlight for the past ten years.

This is ridiculous, it is a publicity stunt. With her money and access to fitness consultants, Lady Gaga is between 1 to 2 months away from having the hard body of most womans' dreams. What I see is a athletic entertainer who has probably taken some time off to induldge in rewards and probably a lot of sex without working-out for awhile. I doubt seriously she will remain this way for long. However, it is pathetic the way our society today likes to shoot down someone for the slightest inperfections. Many hard working multi-tasking everyday woman would be ok with that very same body and they have husbands.

So what's the beef? She looks like a normal female who does justice to a bikini.

    This thread is totally weird.

She looks like what mostly everyone else looks like in a bikini. She's not sickly thin or fat at all. She has curves. She's a real woman.

I blame it all on Hugh Hefner, who has to be the antichrist; nowadays if a woman doesnt look like an airbrushed, plastic surgeon enhanced freak of nature, she isnt considered beautiful. Lady GaGa looks just fine. It is the Playboy model types that are the FREAKS.

And I also feel that the Victoria Secret models are freaks of nature also who have ruined it for the average woman. Ha, Hugh Hefner is NO George Clooney himself. A curse on all of them.

The make up sure does wonders for her though. Looking rather plain with out it. Nice body in my opinion except for the tattoos. Soft and smooth. Sure looks a lot better then Courtney Love or Amy Winehouse.

Not near as nice as Diana Krall. I really want to see her in a bikini.

The only thing I didn't like about the photos, were the ones that showed the tattoos. We dress to please ourselves, not others. It would be a dull world, if everyone dressed the same way.

She looks healthy and has a nice figure, not skin and bones the way Victoria Secret models have to be. which I find hypocritical. Not all female are skin and bones, and not all have the height to be a runway model. Most of what is being modeled won't fit a majority of the female population.
