I lived in Montreal when it hosted the Summer Olympics in 1976, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's TV coverage focused almost solely on Canadians — not an easy thing to do, since Canada didn't win a single gold in those games. When I was in Amsterdam four years later, Netherlands TV focused almost entirely on Dutch athletes.
